This month we’re featuring the students who interned at the Penn State Center Engaging Philadelphia during the summer of 2015. These students worked with the center to maintain Heritage Farm in North Philadelphia. They collaborated on a variety of projects that expanded their knowledge in urban agriculture and community development that they can apply in the classroom and in their future careers.
This month we’re featuring the students from Comm 402 – International Reporting. This course not only includes classroom instruction, but gives students the opportunity to be journalists in an international country for one week. During Spring Break 2015, students traveled to Hong Kong to immerse themselves in the culture and create new stories on a local topic of their choice. Student took away with them valuable experience they can apply to a career in journalism.
This month we’re highlighting Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) at Penn State. GEW at Penn State is a weeklong event that spans across the Penn State campuses and University Park. A variety of events allow student entrepreneurs to connect with their local communities and mentors to learn from each other’s experiences. Watch as students at University Park experience all that GEW Week has to offer.
Penn State Nittany Lion Fund prepares students for Wall Street career
This month we’re highlighting the Nittany Lion Fund, LLC. Since 2005, students in the Smeal College of Business have been managing an investment fund with 6.9 million dollars in real investor assets. Students experience the pressure of managing a real investment fund and gain critical leadership skills while doing it.
